After all this and you don't even have the game yet?! -_-
Try play.com, HMV or Game. The prices maybe different depending on which chapter you want to buy. |

you can get a buddy key buy posting in the sticky for buddy/trial key request...it is the same size of a download as you would normally have when you buy the game...around 3.5 gig or so..
Updates vary... small update = less that 1-200k Large update = 100-500-1000 mg link for buyddy key requests http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10067073 |

One last thing. There is typically a small update every Tuesday or Wednesday because Anet has little weekend events every weekend. But the big updates don't happen too often, maybe one a month or once every couple of months.

you pop the cd into your comp then u have the game but when u start it up it will compress the updates so it will take a while before you can play maybe 4 minutes.

For you, i would definately suggest the Platinum edition, its cheaper and very nice since you get prophecies + the GW:EN expansion. Although in certain stores GW:Prophecies has been known that GW can be as low as $10! But in a regular store it should be around $30. PLatinum is around $50-60. Since ur UK, just pretty much divide by 2 to get the amt in pounds, give or take a bit.

Guild Wars 2 won't come out until 2009/2010. Don't think the CB started yet.

1) Old game (which Prophecies is) 2) Doesn't sell well (Factions) 3) A new campaign is coming out (Nightfall) If I was you and you are new to Guild Wars, buy a Prophecies + Eye of the North bundle. |

Personally, I think it's best to start with prophecies as it offers the best learning curve from starting. If you are in a hurry to get to competitive pvp, nightfall/factions may be better as you'll advance faster but it's a much steeper learning curve.
